One of the lesser-known lounge singers was Jimmy Borges from Hawai’i. I first discovered him through my friend Koop Kooper’s Cocktail Nation podcast and book, where Koop interviewed Jimmy. His music is true to the Mid-Century Modern jazz age, and he sings many of the standards on his only CD release, Jimmy Borges. Sadly, the Keeper of The Flame passed away not long after the release of this album.
