Sven Kirsten is the godfather of the Tiki revival. His seminal work, The Book of Tiki, explained the Mid-Century Modern phenomenon of Tiki in America and ushered in the resurgence of Polynesian Pop. His follow-up is Tiki Pop: America Imagines Its Own Polynesian Paradise, a big, beautiful book that expands upon his original tome. This book was the companion volume to Kirsten’s exhibition in Paris, at the prestigious Musée du quai Branly in 2014. At over 400 pages, this work of art is laden with even more pictures that show the heyday of Tiki in the MCM era and also addresses the modern revival in the 21st Century. Mahalo, Sven, très bien fait!
