SHAG cover art. Foreword by Sven Kirsten. You can’t have much more Tiki cred than that! Tiki Road Trip - A Guide to Tiki Culture in North America was originally published in 2003. Though it seems a bit dated now (a 2nd edition came out in 2007), James Teitelbaum’s travel book introduced a very important concept: Tikis Per Square Yard or TiPSY Factor. This clever acronym measures the density of Tiki items in a particular space. In a way, this daily blog is my attempt to quantify the TiPSY score here in my Tiki Lounge. 365 items in 900 square feet? Aloha, Baby!
