Day 93. Trader Vic’s Māori Haka

I’m really enjoying the products available from Trader Vic’s. The namesake company of the creator of the Mai-Tai is still going strong, even if they’re down to their last restaurant (in Atlanta). I need to get there someday. In the mean time, I can enjoy a craft cocktail in this beautiful Tiki mug, the Māori Haka. I love the color and the detail, true to the carving style of the indigenous Māori people of Aotearoa, a/k/a New Zealand. Mahalo Trader Vic’s, for this cultural appreciation I can hold in my hand.

Aloha ohana, happy Sunday! Today I’m more than 1/4 of the way to the 1-year mark with my daily blog. I’ve been alternating among the Tiki mugs, art, books, music, cocktails, and décor that I either have, know, or covet. Today’s post features a cool mug that I believe represents the best in Tiki today. Please check out my older blog post, written two years ago, where I tackled the subject of cultural appreciation vs. appropriation. Mahalo. https://apandatikiblog.wordpress.com/2020/05/14/tiki-redefined/
