Tiki Your Ears Off!

I'm digging all your different features, Jayme - can't wait to run into you at a local Houston event! We still need to explore Endless Bummer...
We stopped in at Endless bummer briefly last year. The experience was mixed. A couple of good cocktails and one that was disastrously wrong. Terrible seating for us despite most of the tables being open. They'd only been open a month or so, which means that may just have been growing pains. We hope to revisit some day when we're not pressed for time.

A Swedish record label? Did I hear that correctly? Go figure.
Oh! Their most prominent tiki-related group is Ixtahuele. If you are not yet familiar with them you owe it to yourself to hunt down some of their samples on YouTube. Original exotica compositions in the classic style with modern production values. Superb!

I'm pretty sure I've heard that Whicky Whacky song on the Dr. Demento show. Oh, and THANKS for another great episode!!
I never heard it, but it wouldn't surprise me. If I may be allowed a digression, I was introduced to Dr. D during my college years. A biology professor, Pete Rizzo, had a number of Funny Five songs over the years, his most popular being "Booger on My Beer Mug." One time he even gave me a vinyl record the syndicated show was distributed to radio stations on (I have no idea what happened to that one). Flash forward a decade, I got to know the manager at a radio station that played the Dr. Demento Show. In conversation, he mentioned they threw the shows out once aired (they were now distributed on CD). I volunteered to take them and he said sure. At one point I owned close to five years' worth of Dr. Demento Shows, that's two CDs a week for 52 weeks. That adds up to a LOT of dementia!
