Just hanging out, drinking Mai Tai's, thinking of Tiki projects to make over the summer. I have not visited our local Tiki bars in a while. I'll have to work on that.

Been a busy couple of years and due to certain circumstances we haven't even set up the outdoor bar the past 2 years. I still hit tiki bars whenever I have the chance.
And I finally got the chance to visit the Mai Kai last week. OMG, I'm so happy it's not just back, but beautifully restored.

Well, my birthday is coming up. Last year, I made the missus take me to Three Dots and a Dash, Chicago's premier Tiki Bar. Maybe we'll go there again. In any case, I have the summer off, so I'll certainly be doing some sort of project in the basement Tiki Room.

Three Dots and a Dash is on my list. Never been... let us know if go. I also have started an unusual "sort of" Tiki project..... I'll post about it after it gets a little further along.

I think I posted about our visit a year ago, but here is a recap: The place is VERY DARK!!! That was my only negative. I had to walk very carefully to our table to avoid bumping into things. But the drinks were fabulous, the food was awesome, and the ambiance was all I could hope for. We had the "pupu platter" which was more food than two people needed for dinner. One drink each was all we needed to be very well oiled. I would definitely go back again. I'm sure you will enjoy it when you get around to it on your list. Let me know when you are coming and maybe we will join you there!!!
