A Moment of Tiki

You are so right about overpriced estate sales. I'm convinced most companies go on Ebay and look at what the highest list price is on an item (not the average "sold for" price) and go with that hoping to get lucky. Sometimes the ask is so much that it's still overpriced at 50% off. What's funny is sometimes I'll find something and say, "That's a fair price. I don't want it." It's gotten to the point where I don't just want bargains, I want highway robbery!

How does one decorate a tiki space on a budget? If you have time and patience, then estate sales are a way to find incredible treasures--but you have to know how to look! I share my secrets in the latest episode of A Moment of Tiki:

Thank you for the educational tour on how to locate Tiki! I need to pay more attention on where these estate sales are. I didn't know about the 2 websites, thank you for mentioning those.

Excellent!

Those are great for highballs, not so much for Tiki. Still way cool for the home bar! Nice score!
I agree it's not a lot of use for tiki--I've seen sphere ice used for Pearl Divers on occasion--but I wasn't about to turn down a $300 ice maker! And I've come to appreciate those big hunks of ice in my iced tea...

Those ice balls add a touch of class to any cocktail in my opinion. I have a silicone mold I will occasionally setup for a small gathering, but an auto ice maker would be sweet. Pretty impressive Lagoon of Mystery!
